The European Union is ready for a no deal Brexit, Michel Barnier has said before before casting doubt over whether Brussels would grant an extension to the Article 50 process.

“Why would we extend these discussions?,” The EU’s chief Brexit negotiator asked in the European Parliament in Strasbourg this morning after the House of Commons rejected the Theresa May’s deal for the second time on Tuesday night.
